We looked at a variety of companies and what they were all providing. We had stacks of mail sent to us with loads of ideas about things like cladding, roofing, wall linings, colour schemes, you name it we looked at it. There are lots of things you will need to decide on but one thing that is critical before you do anything is - who do you use for your kit set company? And then, can you trust them to deliver the goods? I mean, can you trust them with your hard earned (or hard borrowed) money? Because you will need to put your money up front. I have been a Police officer for 15 years and believe me I have seen, through my work, the good, the bad and the really ugly when it comes to people and money. If you're building a house then you will probably be making the biggest financial investment in your life and as a Cop I wanted someone that I could trust with my investment. To me that was the number one concern because if the company could be trusted with my money then every thing else would work out. John Smith and his team at Trenz Homes New Zealand are honest, straight up people who deliver what they promise. From the building consent stage through to the fitting of the wardrobes and door handles John and his team made it easy. I guess the final test of any company you’ve worked with is, would you use with them again? Answer: If or when we build again John Smith and Trenz Homes New Zealand will be the only ones I will be calling – I would not build with anyone else. Trenz Home's sales manager Perry Bishara has been outstanding from our initial discussions right through to continuing after sales service and support. I live overseas and have only met Perry on the one occasion. Perry and the Trenz team (including the building contractor Grant Marwick) managed every aspect of the project. I am sure Perry got sick of my endless stream of emails from abroad. However, testimony to his professionalism, Perry kept me well informed of progress and any issues that seemed likely to arise. K - Mangawhai I bought a 2 bedroom house (to the lock up stage) from Trenz Homes My plans changed from the standard kh272, and I got a little carried away with the deck, but Trenz homes just took it in their stride, they re-drew plans to my specifications, got the necessary engineering signoff, and made the whole council process easy. One thing you notice in the building trade is the difficulty of getting hold of people and the list of imaginative excuses once you do, so I was a little apprehensive that I was dealing with a company 250 km away, I shouldn’t have been. Trenz homes always answered the phone and were happy to help. All my dealings with Trenz were via the internet/email/phone!! I’ve never met Perry or John, (or the courteous admin staff) and it couldn’t have gone smoother!! The deliveries arrived as per the plan and when they said it would, and I’m talking to the hour! I’ll definitely build another Kitset home, and Trenz Homes and Kitset Homes will have business that too. A – Waihi We just had our first Christmas at the bach and it is great. All the plans worked very well and from what I have heard the builder found it worked well for him too. Any issues he had were quickly sorted by Nicky and John at the Trenz Office. Apart from a couple of phone calls all communications were via email. Nicky and the team at Trenz worked through the kitset and building consent process with us, and supported the builder during the build. The support kept going and didn’t just stop the minute we signed the kitset agreement. We are pleased with the result and would recommend Trenz Homes.
